Our Leading Lady Farm Stand was formally established in July 2013. After nearly 10 years of hosting a small weekly farm stand to sell fresh produce and canned goods from the Winyan Toka Win Garden, CRYP sought to expand the stand with a dedicated vision to developing sustainable, sovereign food systems and community-based entrepreneurship. We were able to achieve that in 2014, and in the years since, the market has continued to grow.
At the seasonal, weekly stand, Sustainable Agriculture interns display the fresh produce they have harvested, washed and prepared for sale. All proceeds from the sale of Winyan Toka Win produce benefit CRYP’s youth programming and services. In addition, community vendors sell their own homemade crafts, baked goods and home-grown produce. Vendors of all ages, including youth, are welcome to participate, and vendors keep 100 percent of profits from their own sales.
