At CRYP, art lies at the heart of everything we do. That’s because, for us as Native people, being artistic means being cultural. As we learn traditional and contemporary art skills, explore our identities, find our creative voices, and tell our stories, we also are revitalizing our language and our life ways. We are being Lakota.
We are deeply thankful for the connection we have to so many incredible artists here on Cheyenne River and across the country. These talented, dedicated individuals teach our children through our Waniyetu Wowapi (Winter Count) Institute & Art Park, they share their unique work in our Keya Gift Shop & E-Store, and at every turn, they join with us to lift up our community.
