This month, we would like to introduce you to a special volunteer group that joined us for the Harvest Festival season: We’re all Gods Children & Heartlink! Here is what group leader Karen Moore had to say about their experience:
“Harvest Festival! What an exciting time to be at the Cheyenne River Youth Project! This year my husband and I were privileged to bring nine members of the Heartlink Network along with us to participate in many ways. The team members include: Danny Showalter, Michael Basinger, Debra Brown, Jennifer Edson, Teresa McKinney, Austin and Gabbi Kimble, and of course my husband and myself, Ken and Karen Moore. The team members rolled up their sleeves and went to work in their different areas of expertise each day, and at the culmination of the trip, the consensus of the entire team was that they gained a new appreciation of the Lakota culture. They also spoke of the appreciation for the Cheyenne River Youth Project and what they are doing to enrich the children and teens on the reservation.”
